SIGNSUPPORT FOR ICDL TRAINING
This project explorers another application context of SignSupport where use of pre-recorded SASL videos bridge the communication gap for Deaf people.
SignSupport for ICDL focuses on the supporting the learning experiences of Deaf Adults who are training in Computer literacy skills. Much like other SignSupport projects, work in this project utilises pre-recorded sign language videos on a smartphone to deliver learning material content. Lesson content is curated by the teacher using an authoring tool on a pc. Effectively, the classroom environment is changed into a blended learning environment. The Deaf adult learners get to learn through their preferred language, SASL, and do it at their own pace, thereby reducing dependence on the teacher for instruction.
